Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home to hold open house at their new location

Born on Sept. 19, 1945 in Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Ashley “Hugh” and Oakey Lewis.Helen graduated from North Dorchester High School with the Class of 1963. On Jan. 8, 1968, she married the love of her life, Darrell Johnson Sr.She enjoyed camping, her family, and most of all watching the Orioles. She was a former member of the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Department. Helen was known by the neighborhood children and they all loved her like another mom. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.Surviving Helen is her husband of 50 years, Darrell Johnson Sr.; three children: Wendy Pitts and husband Pat; Dawn Johnson (Scott Warrell); David Johnson Sr.; grandchildren: Ashley James and husband Josh; Megan Murphy and husband Matt; David Wayne Johnson Jr.; Chloe Warrell; Brock Warrell; great grandchildren: Noah James; Hadleigh Murphy; and brother, Keith Lewis.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, beginning 12 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge, with Pastor Ryan Hollis officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service. Interment will be held at Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery beginning 2 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Pitts, Josh James, Scott Warrell, James Johnson, David Johnson Jr. and Brock Warrell.
